Mandarin has a fresh, citrusy, fruity and sweet aroma that is bursting with energy while being balancing, uplifting and calming. It can help to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, grief, depression and nervousness. It is used in skin care to improve acne prone, oily skin and can help to minimise the signs of aging. Emotionally it is uplifting and can help to remove negative emotional challenges such as anxiety, stress, irritability, restlessness and tantrums (both old and young). Some find it to be more effective at battling insomnia than lavender.
Since 2000 they have not used any fertilisers at the farm (not even the ones permitted by their organic certification). They practise Biodynamic agriculture, which is very similar to organic farming – it emphasises the use of manures and composts instead of using artificial chemicals on the soil. This distiller is also very passionate about employing their local community and many of their workers have worked on their farms for most of their lives. Now their children are also being employed. They also run an educational farm that allows children from the surrounding villages to visit and learn all about growing their own food without using chemicals or fertilisers.
Mandarin Essential Oil blends well with: Bergamot, clove bud, lemon, lavender, lime and rose.
This oil is safe to use around children. Diffuse it in your child’s room if they have a cold or flu. It can help to clear the chest and sinuses while being very calming.
Add a few drops to any carrier oil of your choice to create a massage blend that has been known to help with cellulite, stretch marks and fluid retention.
Diffuse 2 drops of mandarin with 2 drops of lavender for a great sleep inducing blend for both children and adults.
This oil may irritate skin, do a patch test first and/or use in a low dilution. I recommend a dilution of 1% for sensitive skin.
Consult your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications, or being treated for other health challenges. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool place, tightly capped.
