Boost the health of your skin and your immune system with this combination of Himalayan salts and our powerful shield blend.
I find when I get worn down, overworked, or just plain stressed, my skin starts to look dull and I can usually feel the effects of a weakened immune system (a slight cough, a little sniffle). So I love using this recipe to give my skin some love and my immunity a boost. It has Himalayan salt as a base, which is full of minerals and nutrients to boost skin’s appearance. Salt also contains magnesium which helps to reduce inflammation and flush away toxins. Salt scrubs are more abrasive than sugar scrubs, making them great for removing dead and hardened skin. However, some people find salt scrubs a bit too abrasive, but still want all the benefits of the minerals and nutrients. So I like adding baking soda as its also a great exfoliator, but adds a softer, finer grain feeling. The shield blend used in this recipe is a powerful combination of essential oils which help to support a healthy immune system.
After using this scrub, your skin will be soft, smooth and glowing, and your immune system with be thanking you.
½ cup finely ground Himalayan pink salt
2 tbsp baking soda
2 tbsp jojoba oil (add more if you want a smoother scrub)
20 drops shield essential oil blendView Details
Take a deep breathful of Shield, and you can’t miss it; what life force smells like. The fierce combination of clove, thyme, lemon, eucalyptus, rosemary, tea tree, cinnamon, and lemongrass work together to not only create a warm, energising atmosphere; but they also carry a powerful antibacterial punch and immune-boosting properties.
1 medium sized bowl to mix the ingredients
Step 1 Mix half of the jojoba oil with the shield blend together in a bowl.
Step 2 Add in the salt and baking soda.
Step 3 Mix well and slowly add more of the Jojoba oil until you reach the desired consistency. Some people prefer a dryer scrub, while others prefer to add more of the Jojoba, to have a softer, silkier scrub.
Step 4 Store your scrub in an airtight container. Preferably an amber glass jar as this will keep the light out and extend the life of your essential oil blend.
Step 5 Scoop out your scrub as needed and apply in a circular motion to wet skin. Massage gently on your skin for 1-2 minutes. Rinse and pat dry.
