RECIPE
This is the perfect body scrub to use in the morning. It will wake up your senses while leaving your skin nourished and glowing.
Caffeine is coffee’s secret weapon when it comes to waking us up in the morning, but it’s also amazing for our skin. It helps tighten the skin and is loaded with antioxidants, which help battle dark spots, fine lines, swelling, and inflammation. It is important to pay attention to the quality of coffee grounds you use for your body scrub, so I recommend organic, high quality coffee if you want to get the most benefits. While I love reusing brewed coffee grounds, in this case, keep in mind that the caffeine content will be depleted. So if you are just looking to sloth away dead skin, used grounds are fine. But if you are looking for tighter skin and antioxidants, then you should use fresh grounds.
I love using coconut sugar because its a finely ground sugar (and always in my cupboard), but you can also use brown sugar for the same texture. I added in a few drops of vanilla extract as I love the depth of aroma it gives, but you can skip this ingredient if you want to cut down on cost. The peppermint oil provides a perfect wake up punch, and the coconut oil leaves skin soft and glowing.
